About

Ewa Matyja (b. 1985)

As a self-taught artist, I am continually driven to challenge myself and push the boundaries of my creativity. My passion for art has been brewing within me for years, and it culminates in abstract visualizations of my life experiences. With each stroke of my brush, I aim to capture the emotions and chaos that we all experience in our daily lives.

To me, art is an ongoing exploration and a journey of self-discovery. Through experimentation and a willingness to make mistakes, I am able to create powerful and compelling pieces that showcase the beauty in imperfection.

My sources of inspiration are as varied as they are numerous - nature, architecture, people, culture, and the emotions that they evoke all play a part in my artistic vision. By mixing traditional materials such as acrylic paint, charcoal, pastels, and ink with local art supplies and natural elements, I am able to create a unique and textured three-dimensional effect that truly captures the essence of my surroundings.

My creative process is dynamic and fluid, involving the simultaneous creation of multiple pieces that allow for a dialogue between them. By moving between works, I am able to develop and refine my ideas, always pushing the boundaries of what I thought was possible. There is no going back or correcting in my process - every stroke of my brush is a deliberate step towards creating something truly remarkable.

Ewa Matyja, a native of Poland, was born in 1985. After completing her education, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery, traveling extensively throughout Europe, America, and Asia.
